The name behind AUA Rohrman

Jonathan
Rohr

Jonathan was an American University of Antigua student, elite triathlete and co-founder of the event. He tragically passed away at just 25 years old before the very first edition could take place.

Brilliant in the classroom, he was a straight-A medical student and mentor who dreamed of becoming a doctor and educator. Beyond his studies, Jonathan was an exceptional athlete who earned a place on the USA National Triathlon Team while pursuing medicine.

He helped lay the foundation for what AUA Rohrman would become. Although he never saw the first race, his vision lives on in every athlete, every finish line and every step taken on these courses.

A champion of Antiguan sport

Andre was a co-founder of the event, a national triathlete and a multiple-time National Champion cyclist. His sporting achievements were extraordinary, matched only by his passion and dedication to Antigua’s athletic community.

His untimely passing in 2023 was a profound loss. At the 2024 AUA Rohrman Triathlon, his legacy was celebrated with his image proudly displayed on race bibs, water bottles and banners.

Andre’s vision and spirit remain part of the event he helped create—carried forward in every stride, every stroke and every pedal.
